Another eventful evening at the Eden Cinemas.
The special screening of One Direction - This is Us took place at the Eden Cinemas on Friday 30 August 2013. The highly anticipated event was held inside Cinema 16, one of the largest cinemas in Europe, and was sold out within a matter of days. The enthusiasm continued as hundreds of fans eagerly waited outside the Eden Cinemas, hours before the actual event.
The evening started off with a special appearance by look-a-like models that arrived in a limo outside the Eden Cinemas to make their grand entrance. The excitement continued as the models walked the red carpet and greeted the fan waiting to watch the movie. Many also got the chance to take pictures with the models before the movie as well as during the intermission. Upon entering, moviegoers were each given a goodie bag which included Panini One Direction sticker albums, she perfume, vouchers from Franks and Merlin Library, Vichy samples and more. Numerous exhibitors were also present in the cinema foyer for fans to enjoy. Moviegoers could also get their own personalised Coca Cola bottle when buying a large drink from the kiosk.
Fans enjoyed live performances before the film by 89.7 Bay talent competition winners – a group made up on four girls - Cheryl Hill, Kirsty Micallef, Shania Mintoff and Jasmine Fausel-Attard, as well as local band Planet Seed and Joe Roscoe. Also, 89.7 Bay very own Ian Lang continued to pump up the audience right until the start of the movie. One Direction fans were also given the chance to win life size cut outs of the band through a competition on Facebook.
